Welcome to Dev Blog #9! Ships have set sail, and they're both a means of transportation and a tool of war.
At a glance
- Ships carry several players at once, with crew manning the weapons
- Only the captain, who placed the ship, can steer it
- Built from ship parts made with steel
- Three ships: row boat, galley and frigate
How they work
Ships can carry multiple people at once. The crew man the weapons on board, while the captain, the player who placed the ship, is the only one who can actually steer it.
They're quick, too, making them a solid way to move a group across the ocean without wasting time.
What you can do with them
Ships aren't just for getting from A to B. You can:
- attack or defend coastal cities,
- hunt down pirates lurking in the waters,
- or simply sail around and explore.
At the end of the day, they're yours to use however you want. Get creative with it.
How to get one
Ships are built from ship parts, crafted from steel and a mix of other materials. Once you've got the parts, you can put together a row boat, a galley or a frigate, depending on what you need.
The bigger picture
This is a big step for how immersive Pactoria feels, and it opens up a ton of new options on both the geopolitical and roleplay side of things. We can't wait to see how you use them.
See you in the next one!
